for those of you who have been on this board for a long time and have grown tired of the little wars i think there is something that might give you a bit of comfort.

in the past few days there has been an exchange between mark (outonalimb) his wife julie, lark, myself and a few others.

it stated out with a post by mark (a fairly new poster 52 posts in all) saying a few things to larc in an obvious negative vein.

I'm knew here and right at the beginning I felt the little

insecurites of some surface. Life is a road in which we are always

learning and bettering ourselves. What a great thing it is when we

can forgive ourselves and others, and just accept each other for who

we are and what we believe. We all have the right to live our life

the best way we can. For someone to apologize with a truly open

heart is an admirable quality to have...may we all learn from this,

and continue to be a net for which we can fall on.

One of my Elders was a Flasher.

i don't know whether its good to spread stories regarding individual cases of perverts in the congregation.. but this case shows to me that you just can not tell very easily who is likely to be a pervert or not , even if are elders in the congregation.. this particular elder was very prominent in our area and was a regular pioneer for some time.i belive he also served on the hospital liaison committe.. one day it just appears in the local newspaper "****** has been charged with flashing in a public park" i believe young girls were the victims , though i cant remmeber.. it was only when this appeared in the newspaper that he confessed his crime to the elders, well he couldn't hide it now could he?.

even though he had been caught and charged and then taken to court , a process that most have teken many months , he had not confessed and continued serving as an elder and on the hospital team.. no one could believe he could actually do this , yet he admited his guilt in court.. just goes to show , that in this so called clean organistaion there could be many more covering up their crimes.. (in my area also two brothers were covicted with rape and jailed).

so if anyone thinks that in general jehovahs witness are better than normal people, well i know a flasher and two rapists, there are plenty of "good" associations in gods organisation.

I've been flashed many times in my pioneer days. On one occasion (I'll never forget this...quite a learning experience) I went up to a door and there stood a man totally naked sporting all his glory! All I could do was laugh loudly, while my friend tried to yank me away. I'll never forget the confused and puzzled look on that mans face. I bet he could hear me laughin a block away. I too like the zipper idea, but there was a screed door between us....and...well...no zipper.

I will take water over pop (what we call coke or pepsi in my neck of the woods), anyday!! Now coffee....well that's a different story.

Does Knowledge of Evil Condemn Us?

ordinarily i would post this topic in the "bible research" forum, but i found the following on the "friends" forum, in the "tree of what" thread, so i will leave it here.. achristian explains,.

[when] free people have a knowledge of evil they always, at least briefly, consider doing evil.

and, even having evil thoughts for a brief fleeting moment makes people less righteous than god.

Ooohhh boy!! Farkel & Seven...you two are a rowdy bunch! It seems to me you both are exhibiting signs of deeply rooted inner frustrations! Tsk, tsk...it's a shame to be so angry all the time!
Maybe you need a counseling session where we could come to terms with all this anger and hostility
